What is a hybrid partnership?

A hybrid partnership combines a smaller upfront CPA payment with an ongoing revenue share, lot rebate, or spread share component — paying a partner twice for the same referred client: once when they qualify, and again for as long as that client keeps trading.

How hybrid payouts work

A hybrid deal pays a partner in two stages. First, a fixed CPA payment fires once a referred client meets the qualifying criteria — typically a minimum deposit plus completed KYC, the same bar as a standalone CPA deal. After that, the partner continues to earn an ongoing share of that client’s trading activity for as long as the client stays active — usually structured as a reduced revenue share percentage, though some brokers offer a lot rebate or spread share instead as the ongoing leg.

The ongoing component in a hybrid deal is typically smaller than what the same broker would offer under a standalone revenue share agreement — the trade-off for getting a chunk of the payout upfront rather than waiting for it to compound. Hybrid isn’t universally available: brokers often reserve it for partners with a proven track record or a specific traffic profile, rather than offering it as a default option.

Worked example

Illustrative only — figures are industry-typical examples from third-party sources, not a specific broker’s published terms.

Say a broker offers a $250 CPA plus a 15% hybrid revenue share (lower than the 20–40% typical of a standalone revenue share deal). A referred client qualifies, triggering the $250 CPA immediately. If that client then generates roughly $70/month in net revenue for the broker, the partner earns an additional 15% × $70 = $10.50/month on top, for as long as the client keeps trading. Over a year of steady activity, that’s $250 upfront plus roughly $126 in ongoing revenue share — a partner who gets meaningful cash flow immediately, plus a smaller but real ongoing tail, rather than choosing one or the other.

CPA vs. Revenue Share vs. Hybrid

CPA Revenue Share Hybrid
Payout timing Once, after qualifying action Ongoing, for the client’s lifetime Both — smaller CPA + ongoing share
Payout size Fixed, known upfront Variable, tied to client trading activity Mixed — smaller of both individually, but paid twice
Best for High-volume traffic, fast cash flow Long-term audiences, trust-building content Partners who want both stability and upside
Availability Widely offered Widely offered Often by request, or reserved for proven partners

Who hybrid suits best

  • Partners who want both — immediate cash flow to fund ongoing acquisition spend, plus a long-term tail from clients who stick around
  • Partners with a proven track record — since hybrid terms are often negotiated or offered selectively rather than published as a standard rate card
  • Anyone hedging between CPA and revenue share — without fully committing to either model’s risk/reward profile

Pros and cons for partners

Pros Cons
Cash flow upfront, plus ongoing upside — the best of both models in one deal The ongoing component is usually smaller than a standalone revenue share rate
Reduces the “wait months to see income” downside of pure revenue share Not offered by every broker, or not as a default option
Can be structured with lot rebate or spread share as the ongoing leg instead of revenue share Some brokers cap or time-limit the recurring portion

FAQ

What is a hybrid partnership model?
A hybrid model pays a partner a smaller upfront CPA when a referred client qualifies, then continues paying an ongoing revenue share, lot rebate, or spread share for as long as that client keeps trading.

Is hybrid better than CPA or revenue share alone?
It depends on what a partner needs. Hybrid smooths out CPA’s “nothing after the first payout” limitation and revenue share’s “nothing for months” limitation, but typically pays less in either component than committing fully to one model.

How much smaller is the revenue share portion in a hybrid deal?
There’s no fixed rule, but it commonly runs in the 10–20% range rather than the 20–40% seen in standalone revenue share deals — brokers reduce the ongoing rate to offset the upfront CPA they’re also paying.

Can the ongoing part of a hybrid deal be a lot rebate instead of revenue share?
Yes. Some brokers structure the recurring leg of a hybrid deal as a lot rebate or spread share rather than a percentage of net revenue — the “hybrid” part just means CPA plus any ongoing model, not specifically CPA plus revenue share.

Is hybrid available from every broker?
No. Hybrid terms are often offered by request, or reserved for partners with a proven track record or a specific traffic profile, rather than published as a standard rate.

Does hybrid change how fraud and compliance rules apply?
No — the same prohibited practices apply regardless of payment model. See Partner Fraud & Prohibited Practices for the full detail.
